The announcement was followed with the agreement of a long term strategy for DaimlerChrysler to acquire a 40 percent share of the TAGMcLaren group thus beginning a new chapter in the history of McLaren Cars.

there's a post here about "new mclaren models in a few years" I'm wondering if the two are related?
That Daimler-Chrysler is commanding McLaren to build the cars?
It would be sad to see Daimler Chrylser "commanding" the McLaren Engineers to build a car that would attempt to take the place of the F1.

As I said in another thread :
I just heard an interview of Ron Denis at the "Frankfurt Auto show" saying that the Mercedes McLaren SLR, is the first (?) car of McLaren as "Car Manufacturer".
They still have started a project of a car that offer a higher volume ...
so it's true :grinyes:

hope they dont try and get another f1 out of the factory. it just wouldnt be the same nowadays
