For those of us in California without the time or know-how to do an engine swap (RB25/26) themselves, does anybody have any good experiences or recommendations for a place preferably in the west... (AZ, CA, NV...). I got two quotes from Mckinney Motorsports down in San Diego and it was about 8k for the RB25, and 14-18k for the RB26. The prices are for all the parts and labor. Does that sound about right, or is that a bit steep? Anybody try Motorsport Dynamics? Thanks guys!

if they are going to convert the engine to single turbo and rwd then 14-18k is a bit steep IMO...i mean for 14-18 you can probably at least keep the TT setup if you contacted unstable-hybrids.com...maybe even the awd setup with that much money involved.
they arent doing swaps right now...but im sure they might consider yours since it hasnt been done much and will give them even more exposure.
3000-8000 for rb25 is in the range since every place is different...i imagine 6-8k is about what youll find most places charging and there arent a whole lot doing them
an rb25 is a better engine for most because its still an i6 so it sounds good and has more low end grunt than an sr or ca, but it costs a lot less for the engine and install compared to an rb26...the power you can easily attain with an rb25 is more than enough for most street applications...even an sr can make more than enough for street...

I have connections with motorsport dynamics and they have always given me good prices for any kind of engine I want. They seem to give me always a good figure but you also have to consider if you want to go with the jdm or us spec rb26. there actually is a difference in pricing. I will tell you that motorsport dynamics in sac town gave me a us spec b18c5 (integra type-r) for those who don't know that yet, for only 4000 with install. that gave me an extra 60hp over the stock engine in my project integra. well worth it too. try to get some deals with motorsport dynamics, they should be able to hook you up.
