we made one out of some formica covered chipboard (like what you use for making shelves) and put a bathroom extractor fan in the back of it leading straight through the wall (weve got a workshop in the attic so it doesnt need to ever be moved) or sometimes i just use a cardboard box in the garden if the weathers OK- i get moaned at for leaving multicoloured stripes in the lawn where the paint gets throught though

I built my own spray booth, it's not that difficult and Klaus Raddatz wrote a useful tutorial which is available on Model Car Tech (http://www.crosswinds.net/~modelcartech/booth2.htm)

I dont use one. I like to keep the excess spray paint away from the model instead of it staying in a booth

If the CFM of the fan is adequate, the excess spray will be extracted, no?

Same here, I have a table in my garage that I use :p simple, but it works (and I spray only when I have all garage doors open).

Warren i thought u use microwave?
Only put it in the microwave to allow it to dry because its a great dust free area

I just use my dad's work bench. I don't really like having all that fancy stuff just to paint a model. Maybe when I'm older I will, but not now.

I don't have one right now, but here's a couple of things I'll share with you:
- I built my old booth out of corrugated plastic. You get it at home depot in big 4x8 sheets (or smaller) and it looks like heavy cardboard, except it's white plastic. I just glued it together with a hot glue gun and threw a couple of 'muffin' fans in to extract air. Worked pretty good.
- A friend has a booth he made from an old 'printer booth'. It's a sound-proof container that they used to put dot-matrix printers in because they were so loud. It has a really nice plexi-glass top/front and seals up really well when it's closed. There's a small fan in the back too.

I use the Artograph spray booth. Works very well, sucks the overspray out of the bottom through two filter layers.
Testors sells an OEM'd version of the Artograph spray booth.

I had an old Subwoofer box in my basement that used to have 2 12's in it, i cut a couple holes out of it and stuck muffin fans in em, then got some filter material and tacked it infront of the fans, all i do for light is put a 60watt lamp next to me shining into the box, works great, nothing fancy, but now i can spray in my house without it stinkin so much, now that i have a compressor, i need to invest in an airbrush!
