My first kill

Well, my friend and I were out to test our cars' power and speed, so we figured we would race each other. I drive an 89 Oldsmobile Delta 88 coupe, and he drives an 89 240sx Fastback with intake and exhaust. We marked out a start line on the road in front of his house (a mile of road with nice flatness) and had another buddy of ours line us up. When we launched he got out in front of the line but I pulled up ahead of him by a car length after I hit 2nd gear and he ran even with me after that until we finally stopped. I know I have a 6 cylinder and he's got 4, but still, it's my first kill, in basically my first real race.

was the 240 an auto or stick? in those cars it's like night and day for a fast car or not...
