In France, they have just come out with a law that goes into effect on Jan 1, 2002, saying that no car older than five years, & therefore possibly containing asbestos, can be sold on the open market. People who have these cars will just have to keep them or junk them, they can't be sold. I am not looking to sell my car, but it occurs to me that I have no idea whether my '83 rabbit contains asbestos, or where. Does anyone know?

 Asbestos in cars???? Never heard that one. with the exception of brake shoes and pads. I guess you could find some in older (70's and earlier) cars. But I think that would be in the insulation. Never heard of the bumper thing either
