Ground wires kit question

I've seen ads for universal ground wire upgrade kits, Hyper Ground Systems, whatever you want to call them. Do these kits actually work like the ads claim? I was also thinking of just upgrading the wire itself without grounding all the wires to a single point, which would be more beneficial? Thanks!!

Im not sure how much power they actually are capable of producing. Upgrading the ground cables does free up a little power & any additional power is a good thing. I made my own battery ground cable from left over amp wire & bought an engine ground strap from summit racing, cost about $5.00.

Don't believe what you hear because its all false about bigger guage ground wires and grounded spark plug wires adding hp's. Your engine has multiple ground points on the harness and frame to the motor so these problems dont happen.

if you look in recent issues of Import tuner and SS you will find articles on these systems and they do increase a little bit more HP for you. Granted your car has multiple grounds etc if you make those grounds better and ground them from other points that can make a better ground and in turn give that litle bit more and every little bit helps.. good luck and hope this helps....

OK, but would it make any difference to ground all the wires to one point, or just keep them grounded where they are?

i got them on my turbo prelude and it helps to ground your engine to frame better. the better the ground the better everything performs.
the wires run from left side frame to battery to transmission to intake manifold to valve cover to right side of frame. you can get different gains from different bolting points

Unless you're pulling some serious current with aftermarket items (high performance ignition and thumpin stereo), then I doubt you'd see even a full hp gain over the stock grounding points.
The theory is that a better grounded system will draw less overall current, so your alternator will turn easier freeing up some hp. This may also increase the voltage and available current to your spark plug's ever so slightly.
However, Honda's engineer's are pretty smart, so my bet is they have this covered assuming you have a close to stock load on the alternator.
