I recently bought a 95 GLE and within the first three wekes of ownership has trouble with it starting and the check engine light came on. Shop told me the cranking sensor went back and thus killed my starter. Costly repair...does this sound right? If my starter was 'killed' by the sensor...why was my car still starting? It took a few tries and eventually would catch but there was definitely something wrong. This just sounds funny.
Two days after getting it back and my little yellow friend is back. Now the code is ready the 02 sensor... UGH!

the starter is a common problem for the 95s.
it shouldnt cost more than 200 to fix(including labor)
if a shop is charging more than that....they just want ur money.
the 02 sensor is something i havent had problems with...

From what i heard from dealer mechanic:
95 max has that problem, and for the 02 sensor, he said that pathfinder also has the same problem (i wonder if both cars actually share same part, if so than it may also has problem with fuel injector -> recalled on pathfinder)
Try search for service bulletin, sometimes it may help you to push them into replacing by warranty.
