Well those are my options...If I keep the KA engine in the 240 in the meantime I guess I should do some basic bolt-ons for some hp. Rember whatever I do I got around 3.5K to work w/ for the car/parts at first and maybe even for awhile. And if you vote for another Drift car, please post and specify. Please help me w/ my choice, because there are obviously you people have had real time exsperience w/ these machines.

people CAN drift with a ka motor, so just keep it until you blow it, by then you CAN drift decent (id you dont know how to) and you can swap in a sr, and not worry about the suspension setup.

i'd go choice #2. by the way maintaining an ae86 is mad expensive and parts for fc rx7's are not cheap by any means.

The stock suspension isn't that bad,it is more of a preference though.Suspension is the most important, but if you were to go with an SR20DET,you would also have to get a LSD,or you might have one rear tire spinning when you launch.

Keep the KA and get some coilovers to start

my adage has always been "why have power when your car can't control it?"

thus, my vote goes with number 2. it's better to have a great handling car with no power then an all powerful car that can't handle. besides, you don't need all that much power for the twisties, and with a couple of bolt-ons, the KA can be just fine for drifting.

the s13 chassis' best feature is the handling. with the right suspension linkages and support systems, u can have a car that literally "goes where u point it" under normal driving conditions (not powering through a corner for a slide or drift)

so basically u can have a car that handles just as good as those of a lotus esprit (not elise, those are just badass). and then when u have fully understood the workings of your suspension, you will be well suited with an SR or even an RB, which is another reason why u should upgrade ur suspension first - cause u could always change ur mind later knowing that the suspension is still great, but the SR might be a little to weak for what ur looking for , and u just want that inline 6 power.

EDIT:

therefore i picked choice number 2

personaly I'd say go with suspension setup, maybe not coilovers cuz they are really expensive, I'd say shocks, struts, strut tower bars, then either rebuild the KA or swap an SR(KA would be cheaper, so I'd go that route with your budget) thats my vote
