Turbo/Supercharger Horror Stories

I am looking seriously at a SuperCharger for my '97 VQ30. But I am more than a little concerned about upgrading the power on a 6 year old engine. The engine is still strong, but I don't want to kill the life of the car. Soooo, I am looking for the worst case scenario, specifically stuff that has really happened. I am aware of all the hypothecal stuff, the engine blows and catch a flywheel in the brain through the floorboard.

Who got one, how long ya had it, and how's it workin? :confused:
