drop down resistor

in a turbo install this weekend on a VE, my friend jeff showed me the magical little drop down resistor... a thing that I hadn't heard of... so I tried it and is shifts much harder... much faster...

my question is what is this doing to the tranny and will I need to buy a tranny soon if I use it that much.... I realize that I should get a tranny cooler if I do it much, but I plan on only using it for real drag racing..

your thoughts?>

It'll make your tranny run much hotter, and is really not a good fix for drag racing, I wouldn't do it Mike, someone even started a fire in there max by using a wrong rated switch... :(

Exactly... BTW, I think my trannys dead... :(

Nope, wasn't using the NOS... The tranny just started slipping over the weekend, a couple hundred RPM's at first in 2-3 shifts, now it does it a few thousand RPM's through all gears... Taking it in to Nissan tomorrow, thank god for extended service warranties... I just hope it's covered, NOS is coming out tonight... :(

dude, that has got to be a huge pain in the ass...

Only took 1/2 hour to pull all the NOS stuff out. Taking the car in this morning, wish me luck... :)
