Okay, yet another not so smat question, probably answered, i tried the search but didnt find the answer.
i was wondering if it was possible to get a higher redline for the ka motors, because i hear that the ka does horribly at higher rpm range.... just wondering if it was possible or would the cost just be too much?
and hearing the higher rpm range the ka gets less performance, what do i need to do to make it do better? turbos? -=\
how come i never heard anyone drift with a ka motor? is it that bad? i was thinking if it gets wheel spin easier, wouldnt that help sliding the rear wheels?
if these are bad questions, the delete this post mod...

yes it's possible to get a higher redline for a KA but you don't necessarily want that with the KA. From the KA's design, it just doesn't make much power above 5500-6000 rpm. so yeah you could build it to take it higher, but what would be the point? the ka already has power down low, so why would you rather rev higher and make less power?
I think one of the main reasons for you never hearing about drifting with the KA, is because IMO, KA's just recently became popular whereas SR20's have been popular for a number of years now and people ended up getting those. The SR's powerband is also a little more suited to drifting than the KA's powerband. The SR has a nice smooth powerband all the way to redline when the KA has a lot of torque down low. I have heard of a couple people still drifting successfully with the KA motor. Drifting isn't all in the motor.

yes stock you are completely right jspec.
when i put on the header it was a completely different power range, i lost almost all my torque but gained lots of high end power. the only time the car pulled was when it was above 4500.

my nismo, can you be more specific with how to change the power band to the higher rpms?
if you can change it to the higher rpms, wont raising the red line range be good?
