hey, im getting ready to have my car painted but i wanted to shave off the side door moldings. when you take the moldings off there are a couple of small holes that need to be shaved right? the shop said they want an EXTRA $500 just to shave those door moldings. i said no way. they said that they have to weld and sand over the holes, and that bondo without a weld would crack over time and would cost about the same amount of labor. is the shop jipping me? because $500 sounds pretty dumb to me. overall, its a friend of a friends shop so theyre chargin me $1000 to change the outside color and fix like maybe 5-6 little door dings. this is a pretty koo price right? i was thinking maybe trying to find an outside shop to just weld and prep those door moldings, how much do you think itll run? or me and some friends can just go the bondo way.. but how long will that really hold up? im pretty sure most of the integras out there with shaved moldings are bondo'd. any help people? im in the bay area, so anybody with any shop suggestions on good paint job prices can you let me know? also anybody know of a nice color code for a dark deep purple/blue. i want it to look black at night.
