Can it be done? I've heard it can't but I want to see what you guys have to say.

Well, yes, it can be done. You'd just need to get an ECU from a F22B1 and slap that on there, then do all the necessary wiring for the vtec. But while it can be done with relatively minor modifications, I wouldn't do it. I had considered doing it to my b2 once, thought it would be nice just to have vtec, but an f22b1 only has 15hp more than b2s. And much of that is from the different exaust the ex uses. So for the few hundred it would cost to do that mod it would not be worth it in my opinion.

Yea, the vtec isn't much of a difference but if you got the money or can find a cheap block then go for it. My friend found my v-tec engine F22 for 500 frm anuther car. I'd say get all the power you can get and then some. But in some ways it could not be worth it, think about it.

There is also one coolant passage that has to be plugged, at least the case is so in the f22a1/6--> f22b1 conversion. I'm not sure if the f22b1 has the same issue or not.....I would imagine so though. Not worth the 5 horsepower gain from the f22a6 to f22b1....I forget what the f22b1 puts out, but if I recall, the horsepower gains of putting the f22b1 head on would be more or less far from worth the money. :2cents:
