Well seeing as how we've kind of moved I suppose I'll throw up a couple of my pics for your viewing pleasure. It's still a work in progress of course and I've only a few pics as I scanned them for the guy buying my suspension. Enjoy :silly:

Yep, those pics were taken at least 6 months ago. It was just after my little spin when I had to replace my bumpers :silly: The car is sitting on the Bec-Techs in the pic.

The engine is the 1.6l SOHC non-VTEC but I'm swapping that out in the coming weeks :eek: Stay tuned :p

Can you let me into another secret - What are you going to tell the insurance company if you swap in another engine ;)

I've already got the insurance covered. I told them my stock engine blew ;) and I couldn't get another one. So I told 'em my mechanic could only get this type of engine and they covered me, no extra charge :cool:

I don't want to burst your bubble G, but what happens at renewal time or if you have to get cover from someone else, from my experience they look for engineers reports etc.......You'd really want to check it out before spending all that money..............but on the other hand, if you did get away with it, I might follow the same route :smoker2:

Yep, I was going about 2mph, seriously and tapped someone's rear bumper, the bitch claimed for medical and vehicle damages and the claim is still being sorted, 2.5 years later :mad:

By the way, a friend of mine recently swaped a 1.4 stock to a 1.6 VTi in a '97 Hatch, apparently it was alot of work, also had to change the rear drums to disks.
Has to be one of the most unique cars around though!

G, you told me some time ago that their's something like the TÜV in Ireland. What do they say about the engine swap. Don't you get problems by doing this?

I know a company in holland, TCC, they put in an integra type R engine in a civic coupe (one version earlier as yours).

Well this will be my first swap, who knows, I could be in over my head, only time will tell :silly:
Reckon I'll get a loan to do the swap, won't tell them what it's for though ;) The ITR swap is popular alright, lots of power there. I'll be close that hopefully but will have bags of torque :cool:

Well for a start it's not a H22 :silly2: But you're right, dropping one of them in requires a lot of suspension work to get it to handle right and you have to buy an engine mount kit and stuff too. I think most people i the US just drop them in for the 1/4.

What type of engine are you putting in... a D14A3 if I'm right?
It should have more torque then a type r engine??? (Honda isn't good in torque for any engine imo.... so I'm curious what engine you're talking about)

If I´m remembering right your Civic has got drum brakes on the back, hasn´t it? I know that front brakes are more important but I would try to find a "disc-brake-conversion-kit" for your ride because it will be really special at your place too I guess plus it´ll look much better! Or just swap the brakes of a VTi if that´s possible. Really a damn nice idea, bros!! Good luck with it.

It's been done before alright, stateside but it's not very common. Took me a long time to get all the info on the swap, I'm looking for all the parts right now. And I plan to upgrade the drums to discs at some stage, one thing at a time though, get the block in there and running.

As far as I know you can get upgraded drums - don't know how good they are but the drum to disc conversion kit is pretty expensive!
