I have a 99 eclipse and my steering wheel starts to shake when i reach speeds of around 70 miles per hour i was wondering what it is and how to fix it.

you need an alignment

It COULD be wheel alignment; it could also be due to poor wheel/tyre balancing or uneven tyre wear.

those are 2 good guesses , but I JUST got back from the shop with the answer to the problem ( it just happened to my car). If its about 60+ mph and the wheel feels like it moves 1/4 of the inch left and right by itself and just gets greater with speed. Its almost a guarentee of a Bent Rim . I must of hit a decent sized pot hole and it kinda bent. WELL they place knocked it back into place and made the tire fit perfectly for frigin 15 bucks. SO thats my answer to you

it could be all of those, or it could be that you developed a bubble in your sidewall, or your lug nuts are loose. you might want to check for both. just somthing else to look for.
