Just a couple of pictures (an excuse to try my new camera)- going to be box stock except for the wheels. The paint is a mixture of candy blue & red & still needs clearcoating - I'm thinking of using a SAS rear wing and brake set and Apex muffler. The interior will probably be black/purple. I know Veilside kits aren't to everybodies taste but I kind of like this one.

They're from a set of 19" Equips that Hiroboy was good enough to let me have a set of.

I've only used Testors occasionally as I've had a few examples of it reacting with automotive lacquer - the paint is from Halfords which is an automotive chain here in the uk.
Couple of pictures attached after its been clearcoated - apologies that they're not too good

Well if I could get the smilies to attach then there would be a couple of eek 2's here but since they wont i'll just say it EEK that is great looking cant wait to see more progress. Try and get some outdoor shots so we can see the colour properly, btw you say its from Halfords, what colour is it?

It's a 50/50 mix of their candy red & blue over a sliver base - I was aiming for a purple colour but its turned out more burgundy
Thanks for the comments - I'll try & polish it out next weekend and post some outdoor shots (weather permitting)

Did you have remove the "false" intercooler or not?

I love this model, the rims as you have hear are spectacular. I personally would definitely put a wing on it to finish it off. Go with the wing !

It's the kit intercooler - I put too much paint on and lost most of the detail so I scribed some lines on plastic card and glued that over the kit part.
Heres a couple of pictures after adding the window surrounds and painting the lights and intercooler with Alclad chrome. :naughty:

Veilside kits may not be to everybody's taste...but I love 'em!

I've got to say that on one sexy beast! Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see the finished result.

A couple of pictures of where I am currently. Those naughty people at Fujimi didn't engrave any lines for the window surrounds on the glass so I've had to make my own masks - hasn't come out too bad but needs a bit of tidying up here and there.
Part completed the interior - the primer areas will be a lilac colour (per the instructions!). Wheels are just tempoarary as the other ones are soaking in brake fluid at the mo as I want to respray them with Alclad chrome.

Slight change of plan with the interior colours. I didn't like the black so have decided to go with the attached which I think suits the exterior colour better.

Its a 50/50 mix of Halfords Colbalt Blue & Magenta candies over a silver base-I was aiming for purple but it came out a bit different than I expected

Sorry Chris - my mistake. I don't know the paint codes as they're from Halfords custom range - if you look at the paint chips in store I'm pretty sure the red is candy magenta and the blue is candy colbalt blue
Hope that helps

They're Fujimi Versus EU's - I think they came with a Merc A class kit I built a while ago - not sure if they're available seperately
