hey ive been told by all that stock mazda tranies suck and wont last too long on either a stock car or a modded one. so im looking for a good aftermarket transmition that will not only last a long time in my only slightly modded (for now) 2nd gen, but also will be cost effective. the only one that my friend keeps telling me about is a G-Force transmition which he says will hold anything because his friend has a highly modded RX-7 (for sale by the way) with one in it and has never had problems with it, when they used to take the car to the track and need to replace stock tranies every few runs. oh well so does anyone know of any other cost effective aftermaket tranies out there. any info will help thanks

The T2 tranny and rear end and axles will hold all but the most radical of mods you would do to a FC. They are as strong as the FD units. If your going to be running well over 350hp then you will need to step up to something more radical like the G-Force you mentioned.

the G-force costs some serious cash...

I would go to a Ford T-5 or T-56.

I think kennedy engineering still makes an adaptor plate from the rotary to the T-5(5-speed) T-56(6-speed)

Hmmm...I have had 5 RX-7's ranging in mileage from 69k to 270k, and I have never had any tranny problems...none. All were 5 speeds, so that may make a difference. Anyway, that is my 2 cents...Ford had nothing to do with the RX-7 and that's why I feel other Mazda trannies suck.

320 RWHP Stock TII Drivetrain and solid as a rock. I autocross and do open track days and occasionally do 1/4 mile runs. No problems. I am even running a 6 puck clutch which is brutal on the drivetrain.
