Interesting article on F1-live (http://f1.racing-live.com/en/headlines/news/detail/030913073559.shtml)

What is it with replacements lately? Gene, Baumgartner, now perhaps Sato? Good idea, as far as I'm concerned. Sato can do very well in Suzuka.

Thoughts?

Different because Gene and Baumgartner were substituted because of injuries.

Might be a way for BAR to save some money, Sato would be cheap, depends on if they'd need to pay Villeneuve to stay home. Would be another step backwards for BAR.

he did admit that his current team are his only option.

Actually there is more interest in other areas than in F1. I'm sure that there is something out there that could be very interesting, but I haven't thought about it yet. Right now I'm concentrating on F1. Right now the only option is BAR. Hopefully it will be a real option."

If he really wanted to do something, he'd take a paycut.

If sato doesnt wreck at car everytime he takes the the track this time he should be in good shape.

I don't think it's news. It's more like JV having a laugh. Hope the joke gives Richards an idea though ;) :)

Sato is Crap!

you would be nuts to replace JV with crap.

Richards must have rocks in his head for even thinking about it.

I'm not too familar with Sato's track record, but he wouldn't have to try too hard to beat JVs performances this season. It could also save BAR a small fortune that they could re-invest in the car.

Now there's more serious talk of some sort of a shootout between Sato, Villneuve, and even Davidson to decide the second driver of a team. Hope Jacques doesn't subject himself to that.

Well he's not crap, he's not fantastic, but he's had pretty crappy cars all year, very unreliable.
