I know shift knobs are a pretty cut and dry subject, but what are you using and what have you had the most comfort with. I want to get something more ergonomic, and a little smaller than my stockie. I also want something that fits right. (no screw into the side type shit).

what have you all had good experience with? bad experience? i know there's a line of momo shift knobs that go with a certain shift boot? are they worth it?

Something like this:

I just got a GReddy stainless steel knob that is basically a ball with a flat top (with multiple decals with the H pattern) that basically screwed on to the shifter. I got a DC short shifter which sits low enough, but with this knob my hand sits just as high as it would without a knob, because by the time the knob is screwed down, the shifter top is flush with the Greddy knob. The short shifter and low knob allow for really really quick shifts. In the future i'm going to try to stray away from those knobs that have small allen screws that go into those small holes that basically hold into the shifter. I'm assuming that's how that momo one is. Though if you get the knob that goes with a specific boot, make sure to post pics cause they usually look awesome together.

Very soon I plan on picking up a blue suede leather Mugen shift boot, and a new gunmetal Type-R style push knob for my auto tranny shifter. Currently I have a chromed/polished look Type-R style knob with a gray imitation leather thing shift boot. It looks cool, but the gunmetal knob on the deep blue suede leather boot will look pimp! I'll post up pics once I have the time to get down to Inline Four and pick up the boot.

Thanks. I mean what I'm envisioning of it looks pimp, so the final product should be no different, hehe. :naughty:

People may look down upon ones that bootup and swap out knobs on their autos, but frankly I don't care. This is partly because even to date I've never seen anyone who has an auto tranny have the same knob/boot set up as me. Most usually just get knobs anyways and leave off the boot.
