tomorrow I am showing my car to a cou8ple different people, and I am looking at a 1999 honda CBR600F4, new yellow paint, fender eliminator, flush mount blinkers, tinted windscreen, yoshimura Rs3 exhaust, new pilot sport tires. for 4600 OBO, the bike I really wanted when i first lookd at all the new 600s was the ZX6RR, and I found a 03 with 2500 miles, all stickers taken off, fender eliminator, flush mount blinkers, in flawless condiiton for 6500 obo.
now, not considering the power aspect, or anything besides priec, should I go for the ZX6RR or the CBR. I know the CBR is comfortable because i sat on it. the ZX6RR I have only seen on paper, went to the dealer and none there. if it isnt comfortable its not an option though, but is this a good price, and hes seling it cuz he wants an M3 so hes seling this and his s2000. I didnt think youd wanna sell a new bike the same year it came out but I guess he has a reason.
and now for the power thing. you think a ZX6RR would smoke a 99 F4? I know they are all fast, but... whatcha think?
and any replies are appreciated asap cuz I need them by tomorrow.
thanks

Are you truthfully going to listen, or just looking for people to support what you already intend to do? I don't want to come across as an asshole about this, but we have been warning you about the dangers of starting on such powerful bikes, and while you heed our warnings, it seems as though you don't truly take them to heart.
I think the F4 is a wonderful bike, and will last you a long time without having to upgrade, not to mention well enough power to keep you busy for a long time.

a little of both :grinyes:
but seriously I just wanna know if you think the F4 is worth the price.
and if the ZX6RR is worth the price?
I am pretty sure Im gonna get the F4 since ill have money leftover. if I got the ZX6RR, after that and a helmet id have no more cash left until I sold another car.

I think the F4 would be a better bike for ya probably more forgiving and a lot more reliable... the zx6rr is probably a little much for your first bike i wanted one too but i thought better of it especially when u drop that thing the first time your gonna cry :crying:

well, i was thinking of honda when i wanted all new, and compered the 4 manufacturewrs bikes, but someone told me reliability isnt an isue with any of them, but it seems like a 599cc revving to 15.5k+ wiht 13:1 compression cant last too long. but I see most 600s are like 12.4:1 +. so i dont know. but anyways Im heading over in an hour and as long as the guy doesnt back out im buying the F4 for 4200 bucks. I have seen them cheaper but al in oregon. and the ones in washington are still like 3000-350 for like 90's to 93's. sometimes one comes along cheap, but havent seen one like that for a while, and ususally its because it has been dropped. this ones NEAR PERFECT.

Remember also, there are many other expenses that you may not forsee.
Example, leather jackets, boots, gloves, and helmet? those are very very expensive, but are life saving. Not to mention insurance might be a bitch to get, and expensive as well (will be less on a older F4).
In my opinion the zx6rr is not worth any price to start as your first bike, the highly likely chance you will crash it far outweighs money you might save farther down the line.
