Suspension modifications? '97 740

I recently purchased the 18" M Parallel wheels with Goodyear Eagles, and now want to lower and stiffen my 740. Thinking of Bilsteins and H & M springs to lower it an inch. Not sure whether the HD Bilsteins would be too much stiffness in terms of every day ride? Any one have experience with this modification? Any thoughts/ recommendations? Thanks!
