Problem with my order from HLJ

I think I've pretty much had it with HLJ. Almost two months ago, I ordered about 8 items from HLJ via SAL. I know it takes long to receive an order from them a lot of the time, so I waited about 30 days before I emailed them. In their response, they told me that it's usually held in customs, and that's why it's taking so long. They said that if it takes twice as long, that I should contact them again, and they can help me. Today, I received an email from them saying that my item was returned because my address was not valid. This is crap, because I ordered an RC model from them 20 days after placing the previous order, and it arrived about two weeks ago. They said that I can get credit or have them ship it again, but the additional shipping expenses will be at my expense. I don't think that it is fair for me to pay shipping twice, because I have been ordering from them for about 4 years using the same shipping address, and I have never had this problem. They're the ones who screwed up, not me. Is there anything that I can do about this?

After I get this stuff straight, I'm not sure if I want to order from HLJ anymore. :shakehead

It's not HLJ's fault - It sounds like a problem with your postal company - Hence it was sent back. Perhaps you should contact them, or maybe try getting it sent to a friend's house.

and how is it their fault?

clearly, it was a carrier issue - if they correctly filled out your address, which i'm sure it was, since it comes directly from their computer system.

so - try again - same address. be sure its not due to apt. # or you weren't home (signature) required and didn't pick up the package at the PO within the required time period.

good luck!

It's strange.... hlj allways takes care of issues like this, if they send you a wrong model, they let you keep the wrong model and resend you the correct one with no cost at all... so its a really strange thing this one, and... if you've been buying from them 4 years so far... and the address is stored in your data and you never change it, it's sure that it hasnt been your fault, and... or the hlj employer that wrote the address on the paper did it, or the postman or the postoffice did it, so.. ask your post office to know what happens, and if it happens to you again, before asking the shop, ask your post office, once I had to call even the central of my country to try to find an order, but finally I found it, it was in the floor in a square forgotten in the post office.

Well, emailed Hobby Link Japan, and they told me that the reason my items were returned was because there was no box on the street. I have a somewhat long driveway, I guess they were too lazy to drop it off. HLJ told me that they would send the stuff to my P.O. Box. I guess they're ok, they were very friendly about everything, responded pretty fast, and I believe the shipping charge was less than the first time I ordered. I'll be completely happy when I get my stuff.

One more thing, go with EMS, don't have your stuff shipped SAL! Takes waaaay longer, and I think that's one of the reasons why this happened.
