if i was to import an GTS-T into the US, would i have to go through Motorx/RB motoring, or could i just get any company to legalize it for me???

You must go through Motorex for ALL skylines regardless of whether it is a GTS-T or GTR. No exceptions!

i found out that RB motoring ONLY deals with GTRs. thanks for the info. i didn't know if there was any other comp that might be able to do it. what if i wanted it in the US as a race only car??? what would that consist of??

RB Motoring currently gets their cars legalized by Motorex... I suggest doing a search of the forums for your other question... try reading the sticky threads as these questions have been discussed in detail too many times...

I think iffy is an understatement. I emailed and asked for the name of the RI performing the conversion (so I could cross-check it against the RI list), and I was told that that was top secret information. Riiiiiiiiiight.

Best street engine for what ..... stock? boosted? smallest? street racing?
But either way, wherever the RB gets ranked I have to put the 2JZ Supra Inline 6 ahead of it. The power is similar, but there are a lot more people with engine experience w/ a supra than w/ a skyline motor. Aftermarket support is impressive with both and both can make obscene amounts of power.
Smaller engines and I go with an SR20, Rotary, EJ-20/25 (WRX/STI), Mitsubishi's 2L (Evo, old eclipse), or or even the new Eco-tec saturn engine. But thats because I am spoiled w/ Torque, otherwise I might pick any number of B,C or D designation honda engines.
But overall best I have to say something big and most likely american, they are cheap to buy, modify, replace, and fix. The power is amazing and anyone with half a brain and an engine hoist can do whatever they want to it. Because inside it all, however fast your import is, there is always that evil little voice that really, really wants a Hemi :)
Just my :2cents:

Stock motor ... Viper :) Or even hark back to the days of the Buick Grand National, 3.8L, Turbo, intercooled V6. Like 235HP stock and something like 350Tq. 0-60 in 4.8, fastest production car of 86 and 87 I think. For 2 grand in mods you can make one run 11's.
Best Played with engine ..... Probably a Supra or RX-7 engine, with a single turbo upgrade and a good chasis they can destroy most things.

Pssst, the Viper engine is between 8L-8.3L depending on the year.
But, yeah as far as v6's go I am a fan of vg30dett (I drive a VQ maxima) but for real boost go with an inline6.
Skyline: nice engine, why isn't it in something? How much power you expect to make w/ that? I'm guessing around 450HP?

T76 is good up to 1000hp, I will leave it at that.
That engine is being built, its not done yet.
The 331 can put done over 800hp, and cost 1/4 of the price of a Viper engine, or a RB26DETT :grinyes:

I always knew you were a crazy man.
Jesus, 331, T76... Those two things together scare me :P
*Tries to imagine the sound*
Deep growl... Waist gate shudder... Some horrible roaring sucking noise.
Hmm perhaps King Kong being sucked into a tornado while you listen infront of a fan?
*Edit*
Just wondering, sense you've built that much of it. WHen you were figuring airflow stuff, how much do you have to flow through that thing to hit like 10lbs of boost?

Ok, I get it now, For awhile I wan't paying attention I thought you meant A4 block, like Audi A4. I thought the t-76 would be really impressive on that, but a 331 it could actually be functional.
So my other question still stands .... why is it on your floor and not in something?

Its not in something, because I have been working 14hr days, getting ready for an inspection(I work with airplanes, so its kind of important)
That is a buddies engine, and its a 393 with a T76. I am building mine just like his. 331 is just able to spin a lot more.
I never sat down and figured what the air flow was at any given rate. You are talkin cfm? I can get some numbers.
The heads flow crazy numbers, like 280cfm@500. Port velocity is awesome as well, its an awesome marriage that has been proven to work.
Good thing about American V8s, there is a lot more detailed info out there:)
