cant handle!

this is a VERY tired question but...
getting springs and RSB-
best places to buy? are the spirit springs that lower 2in going to just kill my stock shocks after 5k? also, eibach seem like the way to go but where can i pay the least?
RSB- where is a good place to buy for little cash- college student budget! (GO BUCKS!)

also, consitering weapon r coilovers- anybody know anything about them? also how hard are they to install, i have full use of a nice garage w/ lift and all the tools in the world but i was wondering if i would need anything else or is it a direct replacement for OEM strut and springs?

first of all, if u lower the car you are going to need new shocks cuz ur stock ones will be blown. i would suggest the kyb agx shocks/struts since u seem to want to make ur handling better. but if u live in an area with bad roads get something a lil less stiff cuz it makes the ride hella stiff. jus go over to maxima.org and look thru the parts for sale categories. most of the guys on there are helpful too, but read the list of bad sellers at the top so u dont end up gettin screwed over like some ppl have. also remember to buy new dust boots cuz they will be shreaded when u take them off to change out the suspention.

guy that used to live near me that helped me out with my maxima when i had it used to have coilovers. they were nice in the fact that they could drop the car more if you wanted, but if ur gonna used them to go really low u are gonna have to buy the chamber kit too, which at stillen is a couple of hundred bucks. i had intrax on my car, so might wanna take a look at thoes. the springs did a nice drop, sept they have problems with the rear sagging so the set that i had, had 1 coil cutt off each of the front springs. pics of my drop here : http://maxima.cardomain.com/id/gimpy835 hope this helps man!

thanks man, the only thing i really want to get from it is a lower stance w/ better handling, i mean there are tons of options that will do this but i am on a tight budget w/ high expectations, i have dont some looking and decided that springs and shocks are a good combo but are they better for street then coilovers?

im not planning on taking my car to a track right now so im not going to lower it by 4in. like some of these coilovers can do but i have seen them for less money than buying struts AND springs, but ive also seen them for $1200 or so. any opinions would help,

yea the springs are good, but you WILL have to get the shocks and struts too. i would jus look for some used ones on these forums and any others that you might be on, or even take a look on ebay. what kinda ride are you lookin for like a stiff ass one u can haul ass thru corners or jus a lowered stance? i got the intrax springs with the kyb agx struts/shock and that thing rode like i had the wheels welded to the body. rough roads will kill ur back and ass with thoes on. it handled good tho, so i guess there is a good and bad to everything. you are drivin a maxima right? if ya are and ya havent already you need to check out maxima.org there are a lot more ppl on there and there is always a ton of stuff for sale in the parts for sale section. you can also do the region forum and talk to some ppl that are close to you and see if that can hook ya up with some parts or help ya work on it and shit. if ya already on there, sorry for talkin to ya like a noob :biggrin:

weapon-r is a good name with good customer service. if you're on a budget i'd say get the coilovers cuz that eliminates the need to buy seperate shocks and springs, but definitely get good new struts cuz that'll make the ride quality don't be freugel(sp?) there.

i went to a speed shop close to my house and talked to some guy about coilovers and he pretty much said that coilovers would kick my ass b/c they are more for the track, and i just found out that my 105,000 max is still running on stock struts! (and they arent shot yet!!!) so i can get a pro kit or something and then once my struts go ill have enough $$ for some new ones, thanks for all the help guys, now all i need to do is find some deals!

almost forgot, honestly, if i lower my car, but keep my stock 16in 5 spoke rims and tires...will it just look stupid b/c the wheel well is so large?

i've seen plenty of lowered maxs with stock wheels and they look great!!.. i'm going that route.
