alternator noise coming through CB

I'm hoping someone can help me. I just installed a Cobra 75 cb in my truck. I am getting alternator noise (A/C, and Fan noise also) coming through the cb when the engine is running. I get fan noise with just the ignition on.
I had been getting power from the fuse box (from and empty fuse). When I noticed the noise, I routed the power directly to the battery. It didn't take care of the noise. I then routed the neg. wire to the battery, that didn't help either. I bought a noise filter from Radio Shack and that doesn't do one bit of good!
Can anyone help me? I am about to rip the CB out, as it is pretty much useless as it is now.
:swear:
Thanks in advance.

Dont know if this will help but its worth a try since the filter didnt really do squat(No surprise there)
Doublecheck the ground connections of any other electronic components that you've installed. More than likely thats where the problem originates.
Trying to remove the cause might be a better avenue to go than trying to remove the noise after the fact.
Makes sense to me.

It is attached to the roof rack on the drivers side towards the back. It is mounted with an ARB CB antenna bracket. I am beginning to think that the ground may not be good.
Here is what it looks like:

It states on the site (4by4connection.com/cbaccessories.html) that it provides a good ground plane. I took an old transistor radio and picked up alot of noise comming from around the distributor, so I figured that is where it is comming from.
