i am going to meet Chris at SR20Development to get a 95-97 200SX SER ecu for my car as well as the JWT clutch, hopefully the car would run a lot better. i am getting ready for laguna in a couple of weeks ;)
hoefpully i'll have time next week to do a dyno run.

Excellent! :D Let us know how it goes.

so does this mean you dont want the BB DET ecu and harness anymore?

nope, no need for it.

hey luke
couldnt you use something like a super afc to instead of changin your ecu?

I believe he's using one now.
Thats not the best route however, and wont yeild the best performance.
The only good point about the AFC is that you can adjust the settings, but then again you can also misadjust it and send your DET to SR20 Heaven.

i used to have an eclipse and though the apex afc is a miracle for the car (u cant program the 4G63 ecus!!) so i was using the afc for a little while for the SR...but due to more research and listening, i found out that although it looks cool, it's not nearly as effective as it was on the eclipse..so i sold the afc :)

Im wondering if JWT is working on a 2000+ G20 ECU? If they are does anyone know when its coming out?

They havent been able to crack the code for any 98+ ECU I believe.
I doubt they are working on any P11 specific ECU's mainly do to the fact that we are but a small chunk in their target business.
Hopefully due to the new Altima, SE-R and forthcoming Z car and G35(Skyline), JWT might just spend a good deal of time trying to break the code on the newer ECU's. If you dont see where I'm going with that: if they can decypher and change the code on those newer cars, it will probably be a big help to do the same for our P11 ECU's as well as other 98+ ECU's.

I am also ditching the AFC. From what I've heard and read the ECU tune will be alot better. Especially when you wont get a check engine light and run smooth as stock. Can't wait to get mine. I also bought a Vortech FMU for fuel but what I hear I don't think i will be needing it either.

man, i was over at SR20DEVELOPMENT for about 8 hours today!! haha...anyway, Biggy (or Chris) is a really cool guy and his crew knows what they are doing...got my clutch done in around 2 hours! The JWT clutch is really nice and the clutch pedal actually felt even lighter than stock. havent had time to really test to notice the increase in the grab cuz i am still breaking it in.
the JWT ECU made a WORLD of difference in how the car ran..it pulled a lot more smoother, doesnt bog between shifts and overall, the car just drives a lot better. however, my gas mileage dropped significantly on the wya back (2 hours worth of driving ont he freeway)...nothing's leaking so it's probably the ECU trying to adjust to the motor..i'll give it a few more days to see if it goes back to normal.
BTW, they got some crazy cars there...and crazy stuff...i was helping them pushing in an entire front clip of a S13 today...hehe...

Man I wish we had place like that around here. :(

Did you get a lightened flywheel with that?

Hmm interesting. I'd take a little hit in milage for a better overall feel. Do you actually keep track of your milage? How do you do it if you do?

I spoke w/ Chris @ SR20Development today...
He told me that you can definately use a JWT ECU in a 2000+ car, but it is a REAL pain in the butt.
We have a few options:
1) find a wrecked 99 G20 and purchase the wiring harness. You can use a 95-97 JWT ECU w/ this harness but you will need to make a few minor wiring changes.
2) keep your stock 2000+ harness and rewire EVERY single wire on the connector to fit the 95-97 JWT ECU. (He said its a few days work, but saves the hassle of trying to find the 99 harness. Also he pointed out that this is what JWT did on their turbo SEMA B15 demo car)
3) find a complete BB or GTI-R DET with wiring harness and ECU. This will involve a lot of work as you will need to change sensors and other things (I forget the details).
Anyhow... if you have a 2000+ and want to turbo your car, you dont have to sit around and wait for JWT to come out w/ an ECU. You'll be waiting a long time. (Nothing against JWT, but I realize that 2000+ G20's are not their largest interest)
As much as a pain #2 will be, I think thats what I'm gonnna end up choosing.

chris is a pretty cool guy eh?
anyway, yeh, repinning will be a bitch to do, especially for the interior/dash wiring. if anyone got a BB ecu and harness, make sure you know that because japanese cars are right hand driven, the length of the harness, converting it on to a lefthand driven car, will not be long enough on a few occasions...probably have to extend a few wires here and there...also, make sure you get a harness that has an electronic speed sensor...without it, i dont think your speedo would work.

I think if you could dig up some harness ends you might be able to make a conversion harness instead of cutting up your stock harness. I don't know it sounds like a pain in the arse either way.

Yeah, I was talking with Luke about that the other day, because I know Skunk makes harness conversions for Honda ECU's and we were saying that someone needs to make them for SR20's
The thing about making your own is that to make a converter it'd be even more work, not to mention needing to find connectors to waste from a harness...
