In my 5.0.... Whenever I'm on it for a while(like WOT through 3 gears), i get this burnt smell inside the car... I guess it can possibly be exhaust. Is this normal?? or should i be worried?? A friend suggested that it may be a worn out motor mount allowing the engine to twist so much under WOT that its rubbing on something and burning it.... Help please?

Could it be a roasting clutch or something? When I raced that 03 Cobra a while back, there was a pretty terrible smell that came out the Mustang as it was racing. Smelled like he set the parking brake, and then launched frying the pads...

What's it smell like?

Yeah it sounds like it could be the clutch, have that checked out.

It's probably the clutch.... Maybe the rear main is spewing oil on the flywheel?? Dam rear mains on Fords lol

I'd agree and say it might be the clutch, mine stunk before it went out...

Um.. well I know what my burnt clutch smells like when I try to launch hard and not really do a good job at it... or when i first tried to go up steep hills..... but it doesnt smell like it too much.... I'll try shifting easy and punching it and see if the smell is still there..

I just got an 03 cobra 10th anniversary, and every time I get on it (and the super charger comes on) it smells like rotten eggs. I think its just because it’s new, so that’s what you probably smelled coming from the cobra. :)
