86 corvette questions

Alrigt my dad and I are currently argueing about his 86 corvette. I told him it has a rev limiter and he doesn't think it does. Also, he thinks it will rev all the way to 10k! I told him he was crazy and your valves would float big time. Now I have no solid proof of this so if somebody could point me in the right direction it would be very appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the 86s don't have rev limiters . Good luck buying a new engine by trying to rev it to 10K, the TPI motors don't breath too well over 4500 rpms (compared to an LT1).

you could probably push the gas pedal to the floor in neutral and it wouldn;t blow for a while
maybe see 6,ooo rpm to 7 max

hydraulic lifters are for that reason
they will collapse at 6k and then maybe you might hit a valve or two when they hang up
