Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone knows anything about lock actuators on a 1998 Blazer (4-door, automatic locks). I have recently had trouble with the drivers door hinge, the problem was that the door and the latch were not matching up, the door was saging a little bit, common problem i hear. I was wondering if because of this problem if that could effect my door acuator. The guy at the repair shop that fixed the hinge told me that the actuator was just worn out and needed to be replaced, but if this is the case would the unlock button still work, and would the switch move at all when i hit the lock button. Just a few questions, I have.

Probably two seperate problems...but I just fixd my door lock problem (remote wouldn't open driver's door) on my truck this weekend so if you need any advice just let me know. Someone told me my actuator was dead also but when I took my door panel off I could hear the actuater moving so I investigated a little further, it took me about 1 hour of trying to get the door lock/actuator unit out so I can see why it was it wasn't working proporly, but it was worth it. There was a little piece partially broken inside which I was able to fix. Disconnecting all the linkage rods inside the door was a little tricky but now I can probably do it with my eyes closed. By the way I called the dealer for a new actuator and the cost was $190 CAN because it is comes as one unit with the lock assembly.
