first, it's RB26DETT. 2 T's.
second, there's been like 300 threads about this in the last month or so. if you just take a look in the back pages, you'll find all the info you need!

teeheeheehee- I'm going to love this thread once the rest of the 240SX forums sees it
But yeah- The RB26 fits in- but not stock- the LHD steering column interferes with the turbos or something- I can't remember what the problem was- anyway- just a question- is it true the Supra and GTR use similar transmissions???? if so how about a RB26+Silvia+Supra box conversion? just a thought :banghead:

lol give this thread 2 days and you're going to see some serious ripping and flaming in here man. people are posting about this alot and idiot flamers are really jumping on those threads. A little heads up! :sunglasse
As for the engine transpant contact S13GTR he's done it already in an 89 240sx. I asked him bout it and he says its quite hard and expensive but if you got what it takes its the ultimate conversion.
SR20DET on the other hand is bliss for aftermarket parts and you can crank alot of power for probably less money in the long run then the rb into that car. I personally want to do the RB though cause in my home town everyone is a ricer or a muscle car driver. it would be nice to have that as a sleeper. Vette-killer here I come! :evillol:
To everyone else that is thinking of posting a new thread on this topic please check bck a few pages cause every third post has RB26DETT in the title. if you dont then :nono: . Just a please and thank you :licka:
ciao!

rb26dett is only worth the money if you are going to need the potential it has over all the other swaps (ca, sr, rb25)...
sr20 is a good idea for anyone looking for decent power (~400-450 is where its usually cheaper to look at rb25 and 26) and not a lot of hassle finding parts (both aftermarket and replacement)
another thing to consider is whether there is a mechanic around you that will know enough about the rb26 to fix it properly....i think it would probably be easier in most areas to find a mechanic that knows at least a little about the sr20 since at least the block was sold in the states...same with ca...rb is shit out of luck
for specs you can check out my swap link in my sig below or just do a search

Beyond the fact that I think its amazing that you havent been flamed already.
why bump a thread that wouldnt be here in the first place if you had read the FAQ and everyones given you a decent anwser(and not flamed you)?
Anyhoo S13GTR is only on occasoinally or at least only posts occasoinally.

not everyone is a asshole, even though he should have searched first with such a newbie question, he should just be informed to search, not to be flamed...thats why 240 forums get flamed so much.l...everyone is an asshole....if you read the subject you knew that it potentially contained a thread thats everywhere....i'm not being an ass, just pointing out that most of these situations can be handled w/o flaming everyone
