If you search this forum there's a post with an actual sound-byte of CW attatched; it's enough to send shivers down your spine, and it's not even something my car is likely to suffer from :-s

Crankwalk is the Bane of the post-95 4G63 [when they changed the pattern of runways thru the block for the oilflow]
it is basically a condition where the crank bearing shells wear excessively due to oil starvation, allowing excessive movement in the crankshaft itself & in extreme cases the crank will actually 'slosh' back and forth in the block as the car corners [and can also rest against the clutch plates, making the clutch difficult to disengage]
Altho it seems to be fairly common among later DSM 4G63s, I've not yet heard of an Evo with this problem [altho I dont know why this is]
Anything else youw ant to know, you'll have to find yourself - it comes up often enough !

Please poeple, dont post one cause of crankwalk like is the only one. This is how misinformation spreads. ;) Go to www.racingknowledge.org, DSM section, and read the sticky I put up on CW. I crankwalked 3 motors, and like to think I know a little bit about it... And for what its worth, of the 3 motors that CWed, not one of them made unusal noises ;)

It builds character ;) I dont have a single regret. I learned a lot in the process, including how to do 6 bolt conversions, which has paid for a parge portion of my mod list :D
