Fujimi RX-8 Progress

This is the progress so far :
1st Picture shows the putty required to get the front bumper right.

So far it's been lowered by 2mm and had a 19 inch rims conversion done. Vent in front wings cut open.

Looking good, those 19's fit it well. The body looks decent...just make sure you tint the windows really good if you're staying w/the stock seats etc. I'm still in shock how truly bad the interior is after combing through reference pics. :disappoin

I'm building the RX-7 Spirit R...it's a better kit than the RX-8 :disappoin

I don't know what the Aero version looks like, but where they cut that front end mold is right where it needs to be cut for a Mazdaspeed conversion. That thing wear's 19's like it was born with them! :iceslolan

Looks stunning! I'm still hoping that Tamiya will make a version of it though.

The kit seems to be a little off to me. The head light section is too narrow, or something else.
I like it so far. :icon16:

body looks a little long, and Im not a fan of the 4 door design. or 2 door and 2 suicide or whatever, I think itd flow better as a 2 door. But who am I talking to that will make a differnce.... Exactly....

But anyways, looks sweet dude, rims are tight. Cant wait to see this one finished.

Just a bit more progress, Panel lines etc done That's it for a while as I'm off to Hong Kong for a Holiday (OK shopping)

Looking a lot better than the silver one we saw a while ago.

the Fujimi kit still dun look right cause the front spoiler is only a thin piece of plastic and the rotary symbol is too big :banghead:

looking good, im gonna have to say thats the first car with panel lines that i actually think it helps out the looks, cant wait to see it finished.

looks one beefy car, not as sleek as its older brother but a bit more muscly. again, nice build and bring me one back from hk dude. lol. have fun and go to an internet cafe and tell us how your getting on out there.

Just a quick question though.
How do you get your panel lines so clean???
Is it a pen or thinned acrylic you use?
I've been having some trouble of late and would appreciate the advice.

Depends on the model and the colour it's painted in.
I use both a very thin Gundam Pen and Thinned Enamels, this was penned as Fujimi panel lines are bigger than Tamiya and black looks OK, but if it was a yellow Tamiya it would be a mixed up colour in enamel.

:eek7: First the Z, now you're finished with the RX-8. You're modding all of these new cars, I'm suprised you haven't tricked out the new NSX.

Gosh, that RX-8 is awesome, the rims spectacular. Above all else youre the first to finish the RX-8; talk about setting the bar super high. Great Job Mr. Hiro.
