Engine rattles in 2nd gear

The engine on my supra seems to rattle in 2nd gear as I'm approaching 2000rpm... I find the only way to avoid it is to rev higher in 1st before I shift to 2nd. Is this a problem or just because I'm shifting into 2nd too quickly ?
