Few Questions

1. How can I make a mustang 5.0 do a wheelie? I wouldnt realy want to but I would like to know anyway.

2. I want to supercharge my 1988 mustang 5.0 LX (it just got a fresh 302 put in a week before i bought it), which supercharger brand do you recommend, most i've been looking at come in either 6psi or 9psi and some with aftercoolers. What else will i have to upgrade at these boost levels. So far im going to get a stronger clutch, 3.73 gears, good exhaust system (see next question).

3. Exhaust system, is it possible to get true daul exhaust made, how hard, how expensive, and most importantly is it worth it. If its not, what do you guys have good experiance with.

4. Body, 2 inch cowl hood, saleen spoiler, darkened windows and gold paint. No ground affects, just stock lx down there. Anyone do this combo, please post pics if you did. Even if its a different color.

what do you mean by true dual exaust?

and if you want to do a wheelie you'll really need to look into a lower rear gear and a real tight suspension.

Lots and lots of torque.

Vortech or Pro-Charger. They seem to dominate the market and have their ups and down. Personally, I'd get a Blowzilla, because I like the root style blowers. If you go blown, you might want to invest in a good clutch (Centerforce Dual stage, Spec V, etc). Exhaust and gears won't really matter. Some blown cars run 4.56 gears, but only for drag racing.

5.0s come with dual exhaust. Its up to you to get bigger pipes. What you should do is run long tubes with an h or x pipe with flows, magnaflows, borla, or whatever sound you like. It shouldn't matter what other people think. I run a 2 1/2" Bassani Xpipe into 2 1/4" Bullitt Mufflers. Talk about weird sounding.

Honestly, I've never been into gold pain, cowl hoods or weird stuff like that. My dream 79-93 would be an 86 that's blacked out with a pretty stock 351. Nice 17" rims mated with some fat tires, Bbk long tubes, H pipe, and 3" flows, and some nice interior stuff.

Of course, I'd expect the thing to go at least mid 13s. LS1s would fear me.

what i mean by true dauls is theres no x or h pipe to creat turbulence when the two flows of air smack into each other. two series of pipes one for each header going all the way back the the muffler. I would think i wouldnt have a clearance problems. Im pretty sure there is more power to be gained on that. 2 1/2 inch pipes i'd get on each side , high flow cats and some nice sounding mufflers.

im gonna research blowzilla, thanks los

X or H pipe helps make more power by way of exhaust scavenging. Getting rid of it would likely make less power and sound not so nice.

ture duals are best, i'm goin with a 3inch that tips out right before the rear wheels... and about hte wheelie lots of torque, and a lot and lots of traction... and with exahust systems, the shorter, bigger they are the bettter

Yes, also helps to equalize pressure on both sides.

i'm not quite sure how you can dissagree with the numbers and test results. why would ford, a very economic manufacturer go out of their way to weld a cross pipe if it were to make less power for them to boast about?

because i'm a stubren asshole :grinyes: i dunno i like the true dual system better, cheaper, looks btter and just more "old school"

True dual isn't cheaper it has to be custom made and even though I'm a GM guy the X or H pipe helps to equal out pressure so you get a more constant flow= more power.

If it was better why do so many guys with old muscle cars that came what you call true duals. Have custom H and X fabbed up for there cars?

i see what rerun is saying, they are the way things used to be - and there is something special to be said for that - one day ram air might be thought of obviously perfectable, but i just might stick with it. - ya dig?
