I just bought an immaculate 1997 honda accord special edition for $7900 base price... after about 3 weeks of ownership, I found out the hard way I don't have ABS :(

I was heading back to college after lunch, and almost missed a turn and tried to merge into the left turn lane, hit the stripe, brakes locked, and skidded about 50 feet into the bumper of a pickup.

Fortunately, I realized my brakes locked soon enough and was only a foot or so into the turn lane, and got a 1.5' long by 6" tall by 2" deep crease in my front left fender.

Fortunately, I can get a new one off ebay for $150 painted (including shipping). Or I might look at a local recycler.

I have to walk up to my car and point it out specifically to everyone I've shown, so at least its not a huge eyesore :)
