Polyurethane bushings: Pros & Cons?

I have a 95 Civic sedan with an H&R adjustable coil-over suspension, 17's, GSR rear-disc conversion, and stiffening bars throughout. What I also have is some front end squeaks (from the stiffened chassis/suspension) and factory bushings all around.
Can someone enlighten me as to whether or not replacing my OEM bushings with polyurethane (from energy, maybe?) would be a wise decision or not?
Keep in mind, my Civic is a daily driver/racer.

I have the enegry bushing kit looks cool hold the car firm really firm it was more bouncy after install. I'm happy with it

Poly bushings are a good upgrade - not so much motor mount inserts for daily driving. If you live in a cold climate the bushings will become rock hard when cold & also squeak. Make sure you lube them well before installing.

Pros:

car handles better
car responses better
car brakes a little better
my car stopped bouncing with new bushings


Cons:

ride is a bit stiffer
pain in the ass to install yourself (plan for 2-3 days)
costs $$$ to have someone else to install (10-14 hours)

I guess my next question should have been is there anything I should look into using other than polyurethane?

Also is there a company that supplies for my application other than Energy that I should be looking into?

I'm not aware of any other type of bushings for honda's besides poly & OEM. Prothane also makes a bushing kit for your car. Try lubing your suspension parts with White Lithium Grease(spray) this may help with the noise.

ok i noticed someone posted about motor mounts inserts.....why not make your own....get some poly windsheild glue.....fill the motor mount with it...allow to cure at least 24 hrs......cheap easy.....also doesnt make noise when its cold outside....ive heard of them lasting for a long time....i just recently did this to my front motor mount as the insert ended up tearing.

I did not think there was anything else out there, either. But I am also far from an expert at anything , so I figured it could not hurt to ask.
I had forgotten about Prothane, thanks. I will look into both sets as well try out the WLG spray.

The motor-mounts dont make noise when its cold, they make engine vibrations like hell at idle! A chic could have a fun time with the steering wheel :naughty: It feels cool when the engine starts :cool:

ty :cwm27: and the home made poly mounts work damn well too....dsmer's have used it for many years....i used the inserts cause i wanted the pretty red poly look.....mine now looks like concrete as i used concrete poly....bah i need to paint them black...some kinda flexible paint....
