Ok guys, we just got a 2000 White Z28 on a trade.
I can get it for 11900.00 it has 15,058 miles on it, LS1, Posi, 2.73, and automatic.
Few Q's
Does this sound like a pretty good deal?
For those of you who own an LS1, with the same Rear Gear, what kind of hwy mileage are you getting out of it? I will be driving it about 60 miles a day.
What is the Factory HP of the LS1?
Thanks for any input guys

yes that is a pretty good deal i was going to get a 2001 with 12,000 miles for about $ 13,000 but i didnt really wanna get a loan like that, so i got a 93 instead an it is an automatic, with no govner or cat. it is very close to 13.8 for being bone stock , but ur's could run about 13.6 - 13.9
around there some were for being an automatic that is, but ur car stock is a 325 horsepower vehicle i believe!!!!, mine was a 3.23 which is the highway gear an really picked up in top end, but i dont think the gear urs has is to slow either on the highway, i think it is really decent on miles to the gallon if im not mistaken

Cool, thanks.
I'm checking on a loan right now, I haven't even drove the car yet but may do it this weekend.

I does sound good, but I'd do some research on it. You don't see many 2001's for something like that unless something is wrong with it? Are the panels straight/gaps uniform on both sides of the car? Those are quick guesstimates on whether or not you're gonna inherit someone else's problems...

13.8 on a stock 93? Uh, I dont think so dude. You would be lucky to run 14.5 with a stock 93 LT1. Now a 2000 LS1 on the other hand can run 13.6's all day long. And they're very underrated. They will put out 320+ to the rear wheels! LT1's on the other hand stock are around 240 at the wheels for an auto. And as far as the price, dont let that one pass you by man!

i am running a 13.8, with just a different gear, it is now the 3.73 gear, and i have no cat nor govenor, so that helps some, k&n air filter, new muffler,, but yes u r right i was running a 14.42 at the track stock, that was me shifting it from 1st up of course.

See, not bone stock. The 3.73 gears are awsome with an a4. And opening up the intake and exhaust on our cars helps out tremendously as well.
I just dyno'd my car at 290 RWHP and 321 RWTQ. Not bad at all for a bolt on LT1, but stock LS1's were putting down 320+ RWHP at the same time. 6 speeds of course, auto's will be a little lower.

Some stock LS1's are putting down 320+ rwhp, generally only the 2002's. 98-01's generally are just over 300 rwhp...

Ive got Hooker long tube headers, 3" y pipe, flowmaster exhause, k&n fipk, underdrive pully, air foil, throtle body bypass, ported mas air flow meter, and prolly other little things i cant think of.
Its a '95 6 speed.
Headers, y pipe and catback will do the most for ya. The cold air intake will help too.
When I say a4, that is automatic 4 speed. You have a 4L60. '94 and up autos have a 4L60E, the same tranny but electronic controlled.
You should also look into an aftermarked torque converter. With those gears and a TC, you will kill any 6 speed off the line.
