looks like they sliced the front off a 911 and the back off a 928 and glued them together

Interesting, looks like the newer 911's whereas porsche is supposedly moving to the old 911 style with their new 911's

I think that's a good thing. If the next Boxster keeps the "fried egg" headlamps and the 911 reverts to the classic ones, it would help differentiate the two models.

I have looked all over the net for a new porsche boxster spy photos but it seems that the picture of the red coupe is the newest one... Does anyone else have any newer pictures or information on what the next generation of boxsters are going to be like?

would definatley buy this car over the current boxter, at least it looks more masculine instead of the current more femanine appearing boxter.

this is wrong! why are they making a coupe?!? I wish that they would stop trying to sell the boxter as a baby 911. If the new one shares anything with the old one, then it dosn't deserve to be a Porsche.
I remember when Porsche were renound for producing somthing a bit different, and something that no other manufacturer did... like a rear engined, four wheel drive, turbo charged coupe. There are loads of people that make mid-engine RWD "sports cars"! Why cant they do somthing that nobody really expects. I love 911's even the Carrara 2 coupe is a fabulous car, but unless there are some serious changes to the boxter, the magic of Porsche will be lost, bueried under overwieght Cayenn's and half baked boxters.

Who cares if other people make mid-engined RWD sports cars. Porsche makes the best one, so why shouldnt they make a successor? The Boxster is miles ahead of its obvious competitors, and is even placed above TVR's by just about every motoring test ive ever read. It may be down on power compared to all TVR's but is a far superior package as it can actually handle.
Don't Boxster haters get tired of spouting the same old rubbish? Cos if you've driven a Boxster and can't appreciate the brilliant handling and excellent 'feel', you can only be one thing. A straight-line junkie.

Are you seriously trying to suggest that TVR's dont handle, and that 911's dont handle. How ignorant are you?!? Ok, a boxster handles, but its far too predictable! theres no fun in it, its been diluted with electronics.
And you have totaly overlooked my point: I am catogorically saying that the formula that Porsche use to make the boxster, isn't as special as that of the new 911 or the Carrara GT. For god sake, the new SLK is a better car to drive than the boxster. And I would know.
To say that the boxster is the best is also a matter of oppinion, and please don't assume that I am a "straight-line junkie". You have no idea of the cars that I drive, or the cars that I have driven. It is part of my job (of which I have been doing for over 40 years) to asses cars. And I am well respected for it! So, as you are so obsesed with labeling every one, hears one for you: IGNORANT!

No, TVR's dont handle all that well, though the latest models are getting better. TVR's are brilliant bang for the buck, great fun to drive, but when push comes to shove a Boxster is much better through corners.
For god sake, the new SLK is a better car to drive than the boxster. And I would know.
The new SLK with the nannying TC? Now i see what kind of driving you're into.
So, as you are so obsesed with labeling every one, hears one for you: IGNORANT!
How can you call anyone ignorant with spelling like that? If you havent figured it out, drop me a PM, i'll always happy to educate.
Try to refrain from personal attacks from now on. Thank you

So still you totaly miss my point... I note that there is no qoute about that. I know all about Mercs, because of my profesion, and I know the current SLK is a bit of a nail. But I was mearly using the SLK as a comparison, and you seem to think that it was an old style SLK. And, I doubt very much if you know anything at all about the new SLK, as when I drove it last week, it was in Alaska, and masked in black tape, so I'll thank you not to give an oppinion on somthing you know nothing about. OK?
And I dont really care how good a boxter is around corners, theres better. I'm saying, If it is a Porsche, it should b the best. Its what I'm used to. I'm guesing im considerably older than you as i am most people now, but the thing is, I can remember when the 911 first came out... and the boxster compares in no way at all.
Also, no, you don't see what type of driving i'm into at all. I like cars that put a smile on my face before I even get in it, and I speak for quite a few people when I say, the Boxster isn't that sort of car. Simple.
As far as personal attacks go, you are chalanging positive face, so you have no room for big talk. As for spelling, I'm dislexic, but then so are 34% of all millionairs. I was even on a TV programe about it. I'll be sure to add the golf to my list of dream cars, and lecture evreyone else on cars that I've never experienced. Thank you.

Hiya, im a forum virgin... :-P but just found this site, and thought I'd throw my two pence worth in.
Im a designer at Porsche, (not one of the big shots, I do little interior bits and bobs...) and I cringe to say it, but I totally agree with "elll_d."
I've been into Porsche's since I was a kid, and it was a dream come true when I got this job, but they do always say, you should never meet your idols.
The Boxster is diluted, and I know I shouldn’t say it but there are far better cars out now. My company car is a Cayenne Turbo, and I hate that too. Ok its practical, but that’s not what I want. I saved up for a Carrera 4 S, which is awesome, but I was left my dad old 356 T6 drop head and that is a car for a proper driver. I'm still not practiced enough yet though. Ha.
My weekend toy is an '89 Speedster Cabrio, and my god, for a car that’s 15 years old, it performs, drives and handles superbly, Its far more rewarding than any of the Boxster's or the Cayenne’s.
That is what Porsche are missing nowadays, that magic factor... the 911 is still the best new Porsche, but some of the older Porsches are equally as good. As I had a major part in the new Boxster, then I hope it can turn this ugly situation around.
PS. I have a pic of the 356 that I want to add to the bottom of my post, how do I do it? And the pic of the concept Boxster is almost spot on, its looking like the coupe will follow the soft top though...

Millionaire? You sad, sad little boy. You really do make me laugh. You drove the new SLK in alaska last week? :lol2:
So not only do you sell cars, you also test for Mercedes Benz... I'm considering keeping you here for the entertainment value... then again, you've done nothing but talk shit since you've been here, ignored my warnings, and started a second account 'Jase 911' to back yourself up. Yeah, mods can check these things. You and 'Jase' are one and the same idiot. And you know what? Not only is that against AF rules, but it's also incredibly sad! :disappoin
Millionaire eh? How stupid do you think people are? Did you think someone was going to actually fall for a new member suddenly joining in the debate, not just anyone but a porsche designer - :lol2: - and someone who conveniently thinks the Boxster is shit... Let me tell you something my friend, not everyone is as thick as you. Now do us a favour and piss off to another forum. Thank you.
