smell exhaust inside?

I noticed when i was driving on the highway that when i pressed teh gas i could smell exhaust in the cabin REALLY bad. Dunno if its linked to me giving it throttle but i have to open the windows to breathe heh.
anyone have any ideas?

could be that u need a new cat converter

could be hole in the exhaust and hole in floorboard making the leak come inside...my 71 Mach 1 did this ....cheech and chong smoke in that old rust bucket..haha

I don't know to tell the truth, my buddy had the same problem with his crx and he just changed the cat to a hi-flow one and the smell went away also gave him a couple of horses

Well there could be a hole in any part of your exhaust that is causing this, so don't just go replacing parts and have that not be it. Best thing to do is get your car on car ramps or something like that and get under it while it's running and try to find a hole. If you're kinda tight on a budget right now, run down to k-mart and get some exhaust leak fix, a little kit that you plug the holes up with. That would be a good fix for now, and then when you have the money it's time for a new exhaust. :D
