Where to find CV joints?

OK I posted a little while ago about my CV's going bad and tonight I pulled my tires off to look at my CV boots and here is what I found...my left one has a small 1 inch tear in it. It is leaking but not that bad. My right on has a three to four inch tear in it. I am going to replace both axles but I need to find where to get them. COuld someone point me to a place or places where I can find axles?

Thanks
DJ

You can get them from just about anywhere. I like PartsPlus stores personally, and Autozone and Checker usually get them from those guys anyway. You could call a local shop and ask them where they buy theirs, and they might tell you. The price for ours is pretty cheap, so you shouldn't get killed too bad. I think my last ones were only $50 or maybe even less.

:iagree: most auto parts stores can get them if they dont stock them. Some also carry a "life-time" warranty. You could also be cheap & go to the junk yard, but then you dont know what your getting - the joints could bad or something.

I just got done replacing my axles last week. I will tell you they costed me about $120 US. But if you get them at the right place you can get the lifetime warranty and be set. I do believe that mine do have the lifetme warranty.

The price is in Kentucky so it will really depend on where you are at.

Hey,

Where do you live in KY? I just moved to Louisville, from Utah, and I didn't know anyone else from around here was on AF. If you're in the area, we should hook up sometime. Hit me up with an email @ [email protected].

When I had to replace mine, I got it at autozone, it was about $50 (after the core charge crap) and it has a lifetime warranty.
