18's?

Now that I'm getting 18's I have a couple of questions:

They are bigger and require more to turn them due to the rotational mass but they are lighter than my stockers by a couple of pounds maybe even 10 or more.

Will my acceleration be better due to the lighter weight of the rims?

Or will my acceleration be slower due to the larger rotational mass even though they are lighter than my stock 16's?

I just figured I'd ask since no one replied to my Royal Purple thread.

Also did anyone see the post I made about the generic Angel Eyes?

Comments anyone?

the accerelation with lighter wheels should i think b just as quick if not quicker. even though its a larger rotational mass. 18'' look definately better and meaner on the max. i goota asak one of my speed shop techs ,cause im curious my self. i also have 18'' on my max. the guidelines for bigger wheels usually go like this

16" 55/215
17" 45/235
18" 40/235
19" 35/235or245

usually this will keep the odometer at its same rate of rpm and speed. so i think if lighter wheels even if they are bigger should make you quicker. regardless it makes it look alot better

Agreed, it does look alot better with the bigger rims, however I have seen Maximas with 20's and to me it doesn't look right.
My 18's are coming with 40/235's. As far as I know it doesn't require an off-set either.

My friend just got 18's on his max and he said the ride is very bumpy. They look really nice though. I guess you can sacrifice some road quality for good looks.

Not certain but what is it that you would'nt do?

Are you saying that you wouldn't get 18's?

Well, I got mine on and it did require an off-set but it is perfectly safe and it looks damn good to boot, plus the car handles and rides better.

The lighter weight has been allowing me to take off faster and my braking has even improved.

I still believe the 18's were worth it.
Thanks for all the replies.

I'm definitely getting 18's when I get enough money. I also have to decide whether or not to get them in chrome.

Don't get chrome, it is overrated, it is too heavy for one and the other thing when I was getting my 18's put on there was a guy there who had an old Z with a bodykit and some heavy a$$ 17' chromies, they were peeling and he said that he hated them because they were too heavy.

I'd say go with a lightweight polished silver with a deep lip like I have.
It looks awesome, now everywhere I go people are just staring at the Max.

Farbod, it seems you lead us all to believe that we couldn't put 18's on a Max, at least it seems you thought that to me.

I'll have you know that there are many Maximas riding 19's and 20's, I haven't seen any bigger than that on a Max and I wouldn't want to either. I thought I'd just put that out there for you because you seem to have some doubt.
