How stupid do you have to be to own one of these things? Moronic? Or idiotic?

Hmmmm let's see here? The highway's clogged with traffic, there's not enough parking space in the city, people are choking to death on air pollution, and gas is selling for $1.75 a gallon.
What'd be the perfect vehicle to own? Hmmmmm I wonder?
Well I'm a total idiot - I'm going to buy an SUV! :biggrin:
And I don't even know how to drive the damn thing! I'll put half of this vehicle in one lane, and another half in the other - I don't know how to use the rearview or side mirrors - haven't located the blinker lever, and I don't even know how to work the brake pedal properly, YET I'M DRIVING (but not really) a vehicle that weighs nearly 5000lbs. AND I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT ANYBODY'S SAFETY (except for my own, even though I'm far too stupid to figure out what a safe vehicle really is, and consequently also too stupid to drive)

[May all SUV owners roll their vehicles and have their heads torn from their bodies when they are partially flung from their waste of natural resources.]

Hmmm let's also see - if I'm going to own an SUV, I'm also going to have to speed all the time! I can't even slow down for school zones - after all they're not my children (why should I care? I OWN AN SUV AND AM A COMPLETE MORON!)
I'll also have to tailgate everybody, and pass over double yellow lines whenever they're not going 35mph over the speed limit!

Better sell those Yugos and get something a little bigger, cuz SUV's are continuing to be pumped out of all factories. Even SAAB is introducing one. Since you bitch so much about SUV's could it be that most people bitch about you and your car b/c it drives too slow.
P.S.- I just read in one of my magazines that the pick-ups OWN! The first half of this year its 1)Ford F-Series, 2)Chevy Silverado, and 3)Dodge Ram all leading in most vehicles sold. So get use to it.

I swear the people who drive these things should be shot- hell- I was almost trampled by a blasted Range Rover last week- luckily in Italy- however- SUV's are still rare- thanks to super-high petrol prices :evillol:

Most of them have their cell phone on one hand, and the other hand with a Starbucks coffee, and only two dumb ass kids in the back. I'll tell you it is outrageous. The SUV owners in my area don't care at all. They make problems in my place.

well that is a good point i've never actually seen an suv offroad before.. lol althought one time in vermont i did take my father's explorer on a little field trip.. it was fun , muddy, and bumpy... i was impressed considering it was an explorer..

OMG, I totally agree w/ taking cars AWAY from those crazy moms. Seriously, SUV stands for Sport Utility Vehicle, not Supermarket Utility Vehicle. Why does a 4'11 mom need to drive a FREAKIN' Yukon!! they can't even see over the goddamn steering wheel let alone see the lines on the goddamn road :cya:

Well it does prove without a doubt the truth that there's no shortage of stupid people! And I've noticed that pickup drivers are also getting alot worse, too many lesbians needing a "rough" vehicle to go with their hiking boots...
And I'm keeping my small cars, I see no need to be part of the problem, especially a problem that is created almost exclusively from stupidity and a lack of common sense, as well as far too many self centered, insecure people.

Actually Zebra, my cars have probably seen more non paved surfaces than the majority of the SUVs out there. I find it funny that in order to avoid the beasts and their dimwitted drivers, one must chart a route home that utilizes dirt roads... ironic isn't it? Oh, but the joy of passing the seldom seen soccer mom in her GMC behemoth, she's afraid to exceed 30mph going over the mud (don't you hate it when they just put down the "anti-dust compound?") and I fly by doing 45mph (which is in fact the limit) :biggrin: brings miles of smiles! As infuriating as the SUVs are in the city, they're a source of endless amusement in the country!

Of course my dislike for SUVs is logical, your dislike for small cars goes unexplained. I'm sure there's a reason, though it can't be that they waste gas, waste space, or that they're gross polluters. And it probably isn't out of envy that the owners of small cars, fill up half as often as the SUV owner, and that when they do fill up they only spend half as much time doing so (and less money too) :biggrin:

Of course I don't take everything you said serious. I don't take anything people say or do during the day seriously. You just can't otherwise I'd probably be miserable b/c of all the whinning I hear and see in my everyday life. Sure in the US your guaranteed your freedom and such, but what gives you the right to endanger MY life with your SUV? What's even worse is the ones that are raised up so high that there bumpers will go right over your hood. I live in an upscale region of the bay area, full of idiot soccer moms with cell phones shoved in there ears. There are probably 2 SUVs for every car here. I feel the need to go on a tire slashing rampage. Its illegal to have my headlight centers lower then 22(?) inches off the ground, but its legal for a 5000lbs behemoth to drive on the street raised so high that if they rear ended me it would rip everything off my car above the steering wheel.

If you are going to own an SUV be prepared to roll your vehicle, pay $1K a month for gas, and suffer the public backlash.

Meh, the SUV fad will die down as gas prices go up. The worst part about SUV's is now their going into the secondhand market, i.e. 16 y/o's who JUST got their liceance are driving around in metal monsters endangering people driving normal cars. But hey, as long as THEY'RE safe and everyone else dies, it's ok, right? Well, that's what the parents think at least. Screw everyone else, as long as my kid doesn't get a scratch when s/he ploughs into a sedan and liquifies 4 people. :banghead:

I too have a strong disliking of SUVs and Jeeps..... Tons of teens in the area I'm from have them. At the high school I went to, it was like a Jeep Wrangler and a half for every car.. And like 4 or 5 SUVs per car. And it seems most of the SUV drivers are assholes/idiots/inconsiderate. When I'm coming home on a highway, going at like... 75mph.. And some SUV comes up and gets all over me with his brights because he wants to use his vehicle's max speed of 80-85mph... It really pisses me off. Especially when they think they can change lanes with me right next to them..........

EDIT: I've always fantasized about going into random parking lots and slashing the tires of every S.U.V., doing at least 1,000 a day. It would go in the news an people would be afraid to drive S.U.Vs in L.A. Of course I would'nt do it because I would damage other peoples property and I would'nt wanna do that even though I hate them, but hey...it's just a fantasy. :uhoh:

I do own a Yugo, I was just temporarily taking on the personality of the "average" SUV owner to get my point across. I'm not trying to say that only SUV owners are jerks. Idiots are behind the wheel of every type and size of vehicle known to mankind - but an idiot in a huge vehicle is more noticeable, more dangerous, and more annoying than an idiot in a small vehicle, which I think is responsible for the general dislike so many people have for SUVs and their owners.

I could'nt agree with you more. I think there should be an S.U.V tax. I know people are probably saying "you're okay with a tax like that because you dont drive an SUV", but if there was a fast-car tax, I wouldnt really mind much since I like driving so much.

I met a guy who had a BMW 5-series wagon and he says theres no point in buying an SUV since big station wagons (like the 5-series wagon) can do the same amount of work. He told me he put a fridge in the back and took it home, he was saying he can haul as much as an SUV owner can, AND his car is alot safer/faster than any SUV (this was 2 years ago, Porsche SUV wasnt out yet).
