starting college

well i started college to day..i started queens college... seems like a nice place.. any advice for this newbie to college??

well looks like we are in the same boat, i started today also, i had 2 classes so far, i was suppose to be in an art class from 12-2 but the professor let us go at 12:30 and i was like SWEET. now i gotta go back in about 30 min for my last class of the day.

I wish I had the time and money to go to school full time... instead I have to work full time and go to little tech school at nights throughout the week, part time. Days with school and work are horrible... when I get home I have enough energy to drink a beer, play a couple video games and go to bed.

i had one class today..
it was suppose to be from 8-9:40 but the professor let us go at9:20

im happy b\c i got fridays off no classes! :grinyes:

I just started also, i'll tell you the same thing my cousin told me when i told him there were a lot of tempting girls around (i have a Girlfriend). He told me "go to your classes, do your homework, and go home." That's if you have a woman, but the same principal applies. You go to college to get an education, just do what you have to do to pass your classes (legitly) and sleep....In college sleep can be your best friend or your worst enemy. :2cents:

I got to school today, class at 7:30 p.m. Everyone was standing outside... I stayed around for about 3 min then left. Fucking bomb threats.

hehe, no actually I go to Indiana University, Purdue University Fort Wayne... Its a really nice school, I think its the only school in the U.S. with two major schools at one campus.

your cousin must be ILike2DriveCars. I used to live in Mahomet too. But we moved since it sucked. If I ever go back to that god forsaken place, I'll let you know. I have no clue where Morroco is. But I used to go to Muncie, Indiana which is about an hour from my house and about 2 for you. I havent been there in a while though, maybe when I finish the TII, I'll race you 1/4 mile. What year z28 do you have? I think my WRX can take them up to about '98. After that, it would be tough.

Fcuk off! How much of a :loser: do you want to be? College/uni life is about rooting anything that looks your way and has a pulse and life threatening substance abuse!

trust me, not that you have to loaded up w/ alcohol + drugs all day long, but college is all about networking and setting yourself up for the future. Not much you can learn in college that you didn't already know.

If you have a gf, that's great too, make sure you both can still stay together while being able to each have your fun. they don't call college the "best time of your life" for nothing.

Trust me, I just graduated...

believe me, me and my gf will definatly stay together, howeve i am gonna transfer back home from my college with is about 3 hours away. i will start school at a local college and get an apartment

Hey man, I suggest taking full advantage of your first 2 years of school. Not just studying, but also socially. If you live in a dorm try to get to know everyone on your hall. The first year will be your funnest I think. My 1st year I lived in a dorm and had so much fun. I remember so many things I did, I think it was my funnest year. Definately concentrate on studying. I took full advantage of living just steps away from all my friends and concentrated more on living a social life that I didn't study except a little bit the night before. So don't screw off on your school work. I've done it a few too many times, not making use of time. Luckily I'm still in school though(havent dropped my grades taht low, almost though). Anyways, my point is basically to have fun.

i have had 2 days as well and i have been hit one twice so far, but like i said before i am taken and nothing is gonna change that.

nothing like a dedicated man that makes him really attractive...you might be dedicated, but watch out for VICIOUS girls that'll do anything to get even just a second of cheap joy...(trust me, us girls are evil, inside and out)

oh, and make sure your gf knows that your eyes are on her and only her :grinyes:

Having run the gambit of studying my ass off and participating to often in the extracurricular activities – I can say you’ll need to study hard and work in the extra stuff until you reach a level that will let you keep your sanity.

You’re paying for this education now (unless your parents are footing the bill etc) so you should make use of it. If your goal is the extracurricular then get out of school and save your money. You can do that shit without being there. I’m glad I buckled down to learn what I could while I was there – its paid off big time since graduation.
