i've personally used jb weld on the door locks of a different car i had. it seems to be one of the strongest and doesn't need any reenforcement screens behind it or multiple layers like bondo (although it does work also). i just sanded it and primed it and it never gave me a problem

Weld metal in solid and fill with body fill.
Did that to mine and had no problems.

try to use as little bondo as possible cause it could crack and that'd ruin it. if u get a good weilder, he shouldn't have to use any bondo at all.

im planing on doin this in the spring, i was thinkin about tackin (welding) a small patch behind the keyhole, and any other holes and filling the outside with bondo

If you tack weld it the welds are very likely to rust. Weld them in solid and less chance of rust. Be careful not to overheat the meatal and warp it. Really pisses off the body man
