I use Meguires,carnuba wax,cleaner wax, plastic poishes
You should check the threads archive also, this one has been discussed to death and you should be able to find lots of info on what people use.

Turtle Wax will give you a great shine, but if you need to get rid of orange peel and other flaws you need something that cuts too. A cheap and good product to use here would be Meguires ( or any other brand for that matter ) cleaner wax, it has a mild abrasive added to it. You can get a very small bottle for cheap.
A polishing kit which is a set of 5 or 6 very fine clothes like sandpaper will do the trick here also, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000, and 12000 grits. THey can be washed and reused, used dry or wet.

I got mine at the Hobby Shop here, but I think it can be had at any of the online stores. Its a good investment I have used mine alot, I usually sand the primer with the 3200 and 36000, rarely do I use anything rougher than the 6000 on a finish coat.
I think the company that makes them is LMG.
If you don't find it PM me tommorow and I will do some looking.

If it shines already no need to polish, yeah I heard the Tamiya stuff was going away. Polishing is an option not a must, if you have orange peel or small flaws you can't live with then polish away.
