amp question

i have 2 kicker comp vr's and they are around 400 watts rms and like 800 watts max. i was thinking about getting a new amp and i don't know what to get. i don't know if my subs are 2 or 4 ohm and if anyone could tell me i would really appriciate it. would it be bad if i got an amp that had more power than my subs need? thanks

I dont know anything about those subs. But getting an amp that has more power than the subs need will not hurt the subs, as long as you watch your gain crontols. Depending on what your sub specs are, I would say to go for a JBL amp (the 1200.1 would be nice). I have the JBL 600.1 pushin 2 Adire Shivas, and I couldnt be happier!

youll be alright with a larger amp......just need to adjust the gain acordingly....i personaly dont care for jbl products.....my suggestion to you would be the mtx-81000 but its pricey at around 5-600....
