Ok, what are the main differences between the SR20DET, Black Top and Red Top. Black Top is better im told but why? Looks like they have the same specs.... Can we get some technical info here not just, "Thats what I was taught to Love," Thanks.

here's some technical info for you. i'll go real slow so you don't get lost.

first you take an "F". then, add an "A". and last, but CERTAINLY not least, we throw a "Q" in there. you put them all together and it creates...

FAQ!!!

now go read it.

i believe the blacktops can withstand more hp and come more hp then base. there's one on ebay now that runs a 12.9... no redtop can do that stock.

If you're talkin' about an S13 Redtop VS an S13 Blacktop...

they're one and the same.

look. the reason these FAQ's were made was to have a quick and reliable answer available to all of the most common questions asked around here. the regulars around these boards hate having to answer the same questions every day, so we created the FAQ in hopes that anyone with a simple question would read it and find the answers to their questions. the people who post on this board are not simply here to take time out of their days to answer your questions, when it could EASILY have been answered by just taking a look at the FAQ. just like you said "it's not like i sit here on the computer all day reading this shit", we don't sit here on the computer all day ANSWERING YOUR shit. if you feel that way about the FAQ, then fine. that's your own personal opinion. but don't expect me or any of the knowledgable regular posters to be falling over each other trying to answer your questions. ESPECIALLY not when you take that kind of attitude towards me and the FAQ that we created with the sole purpose of trying to help you. shows what gratitude some people have these days. :shakehead

You know what? Get fucked. Seriously go and get out of here. Consider it an honour Brian even gave you the time of day. Because, Brian will know more about our beloved cars than you ever will. Why? Because me and him used to read JDM mags before we had pubes. We learned about SR20s when others were doing long division.

The "regulars" here have long been complaining about newbs, and we try to alleveate the questions by creating an FAQ. So idiots like you who just came back from jagging off to Ricky Chus car can come and get the straight dope about the cars, which you, the newb bandwagon jumper do not deserve.

Ill probably get this post censored, maybe even banned, but its worth it. Brian puts alot of effort into this, and so do the other people.

So untill you can learn to be gracious and not to bite the hand that feeds you, jackasses like my self, will scold you, and rightfully so.

If you pulled that shit and FreshAlloy, or 240sxforums or Zilvia, you would get e-gang beaten and banned.

That is all.

Cliffnotes: Newb needs to sit down and STFU.

The reason this post was made is because i have seen the FAQ and I see the stuff you guys have up there from SRswap.com, I knew all this already. I wanted to see if there was more to it than that, I guess I should have explained it better to begin with. Yes, thats my fault. One thing I would like to say is that I am 18 now and I have been a nissan fan for over 3 years now and just cuz I am new to the forum does not mean I am new to Nissan and just want a thrill ride to show off, though this may be the case for some people, it is not me. Thanks for all the info I did get.

You knew all this already, yet you still asked a question..uh...ok then

Your 18, and you want a swap :uhoh:

Think about insurance, and the fact your a relativly new driver. The SR is a qucik motor. And you probably dont have the maturity to handle that power. I sure as hell know I dont.

Go do a Skip Barber driving course. THAT will make you faster than any engine mod.

im 18, and im getting an rb25...

dorikin pull your hand out of your ass and start answering questions.

same thing goes with ike... yes it is answered in the stickie's, but this is a forum for 240sx owners looking for help. i guess this turned out to be a ricer forum or something like that, so a lot of people asking the questions are dumbasses. but still... it would be easier to answer the question or close the thread right away instead of a having a thread hate thing going on here with 20 something posts.

i think it's also worth mentioning that the FAQ you guys compiled isn't really the most organized collection of information around; rather, it's actually quite jumbled.

and dorikin, you've suggested this Skip Barber course several times in the past to new drivers. is this something you've actually done? just curious...

derek - stop telling people how to spend their damn money. i'm only 18 and i'm getting an SR swap pretty shortly after getting my 240SX, yet you haven't said a damn thing to me about not being responsible and what-not. if he wants to do it, let him do it. and Skip Barber isn't God. it's a good idea, sure. but it's not the be-all and end-all.

this thread is closed as it should have been a long time ago (my bad on that one). i think everyone should be happy that there is an FAQ at all, even if it is somewhat jumbled. you should have seen this forum before we made it. sometime in the near future, i will revamp it and make it better, but i simply don't have time right now in my busy life, so you'll just have to live with what we have already and be thankful of it.
