my friend drives a 93 probe, all he put in it was a K&N air filter and i kicked the shit out of it :naughty: , he wants to know what the best bang for the buck would be for his probe.

test pipe ($30 ~5-7 hp), used nitrous kit ($400 ~35-45 hp), or improved racing skills (free). It's hard to squeeze power out of a Probe GT (PGT) while it's normally aspirated. I have one, so I know.
If he goes nitrous he has to stay below a 50 shot or he'll risk blowing the motor. The stock PGT's fueling system can't keep up with a shot larger than 50. It's recommened to do a 45 shot or less for safe running.
If you have a current generation V6 Mustang, then I doubt that he could beat you even if you are stock. If you have one of the previous gen V6 Mustangs, he has a pretty good chance.

IMO you have never raced a mustang with your probe or you do not own a gt... Last night after reading your probe i went out with a friend to go to the movies... well, we got out of the town a little and onto the back roads and came up on a mustang base model or v6 and he slowed down like he wanted us to pas so i pull it around and he guns the throttle.. needless to say I do not like these kind of 'races' so i pushed in the brake and flashed my lights, he came back around and we lined up and took off.. on the start he was around a fender ahead of me but when i hit second i wakled off, no way in hell he was keeping up. It made me feel so good that i went into the 'city' haha not even big enough... and found a mustang gt, I knew the kid that was driving it and knew he didn't have anything but a crosspipe so no 'real' mods but i pulled up beside him, looked over to catch his attention and left him. After i turned he did the exact same thing so i downshifted to second he punched it maybe 1/2 second before me and got a few feet ahead but then we shifted and i blew by him in third gear we didn't let off until around 70 (we were in the middle of a city) and his front bumper was about even with my rear. I have no idea how you beat a probe gt with a v6 but if you want to come talk and you live close hit me up.

a stock GT vs a v6 should be a slight edge to the GT if drivers equal, SE isnt relyl a race unless the v6 is an auto

a Probe GT in good condition and good driver will hit 15.5. about even with a good 99+ stang driver give or take a tenth.
