Dinky Fujimi wheels.

Fujimi wheels aren't small, and aren't dinky. They are 16-17 inches. That's about as big as they need to be for real performance. I understand that a lot of us want big, fat wheels for our show car. Aoshima makes wheels like that. But there are a ton of people that want smaller wheels for our sports car models. I actually think that someone, Fujimi, Aoshima, anyone, should make some really small wheels. Like 13'' rims... that are 6.5'', 7'' wide. Those are sports tires for people like me with Civic, MX-5's and other little cars. There are cars out there other than Skylines, cars that are more appropriatly shod in smaller diameter wheels.

So maybe Fujimi and Aoshima need to strengthen their lineup, but they need to do it in large diameter wheels and medium diameter wheels... and even some rather small wheels.

And while I'm at it, S13 Silvias look retarded with 18'' rims. Sorry.

I know what your saying, but not everyhere is going to agree with this. Not ALL of our model cars should have small 15's on them. Sure, some people who are building say a JDM Civic HB out of the Revell kit may use some small Fujimi wheels such as the SW88's which are around 15's. But, other will use larger rims if they are going for a showcar look. Yes Aoshima and Fujimi should BOTH make small medium and large wheels, but from the looks of it now, I just don't think its gonna happen.

And 18's don't look good on ANY S13? Well, IMO, thats a pure lie.

Its not the fact that they make small rims, it's the fact that the rims are totally out of scale with the model. For instance the DC5 ITR comes with 17 inch rims stock, the ones that come with the kit look to be no larger than 14"-15", simply because fujimi uses the same size tire in all its kits. That's why I don't like fujimi rims.

And I'm not saying no one should make big wheels. I like big wheels, too, I have a set on my NSX. Just make more little ones, too.

Fujimi does not use the same size tire in all its kits. And the wheels on my DC5 look fine.

I don't think their rims are small, it's just that they're out of proportion. Take a look at their ADVAN's for example, the spokes "pop-out" too much.

I agree, they do need to expand on their size variety, but need to put out quality products.

Its nothing to do with replicating real world items but rather to do with what looks good in 1/24 scale. Fujimi's 17" rims are to scale but don't look right on most cars even though their real life counterparts would have this size fitted and look fine.

Both fly on the wall And primera man are right on the money.If you get your ruler out and measure the different rims(1mm=1inch approx.)We are so used to seeing huge wheels under everything some of the wheels look small.And Fujimi do make some smaller diameter rims,just not very many.

I personally don't really like the smaller rims. I like big rims that fill up the wheel well, but thats just me.

Aoshima seems poised to do the big show car type wheels while Fujimi seems to stick to performance types.

Speaking of Aoshima, it's been a long time since they offered any new wheel and tire sets. Or any new kits for thatmatter. Whats their story? Anyone know?

I'd like to see smaller wheels as well. I mean come on, what else can I replace the stock tires on the Mini Cooper or Datsun 510 with? 18" wheels? I don't think so. Early Porsche speedster kits, subcompacts, early VW Beetle kits, etc could benefit from low-profile 13" - 15" diameter wheel/tire combos.
