Would the B18C5 engine change the handling of a Sol because you are moving up from a 1.6L to a 1.8L

Maybe a little in a stock Sol, but I couldnt imagine much.. Thats why you just upgrade the suspension to fix that problem..

Nope. I thought before that the weight issue (bigger engine) would cause understeer, but it's not true. You just have to upgrade your suspension. :)

A B16 to a B18 has very little differnce in weight, youll never notice the difference

if your going to go 1.8...just get the short block and tranny if you want.....send your head off to portflow, skunk2 manifold, bored and tapered TB, all matched...you'll spend less and get more:D

Is the H22 a better engine choice to go with over a B16? I know that the H22 has more horepower but does that make it a better choice for a sol? Or would it be better to by a B16 and spend the money that i would save making it better. Let me know

the h22a is a better choice if you want to go fast in a straight line. other than that, you will start to experience more under steer than normal, which can only be remedied with an uncomfortable suspension. unless you want a show car or one that is simply used for drag, stick to the b18 or b16.
